Au Pair

NEW MANDATORY PROCEDURE FOR ONLINE PAYMENT OF RESIDENCE PERMIT APPLICATIONS:

From the 1st of July 2019, The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark including all Danish diplomatic missions are introducing online payment of the embassy fee for residence or work permit.

The embassy fee should be paid online using this link https://dys.um.dk/permit/

The receipt for the payment should be submitted at the Danish Visa Application Centre (VFS) when you hand in your passport, relevant documentation and supply biometrics. Please note that in R/W permit cases there are three fees to be paid:

  1. Fee to either The Danish Immigration Service or The Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration (SIRI)
  2. Fee to the Danish embassy using the link https://dys.um.dk/permit/ and
  3. Fee to the Danish Visa Application Centre (VFS).

 




If you are a young foreign national wishing to learn about Danish language and culture, you can apply for a residence permit in Denmark as an au pair. This type of residence permit application is submitted to the Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration (SIRI).

REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION

  1. Copy of application form
  2. Original passport and photocopies of all pages including passport cover
  3. Original birth certificate
  4. Documentation of education (e.g. Diploma, Transcript of Records and Training Certificates)
  5. Receipt of case order ID
  6. Receipt of your residence permit application online payment from https://dys.umm.dk/permit/

     

WHERE TO FILE YOUR APPLICATION

Residence permit applications must be submitted at the Danish Visa Application Center (VFS), Mondays to Fridays, from 7.00-09.00 for walk-in applicants (only 10 slots per day  on a first come, first served basis) and 09.00-14.00 for scheduled appointments, which is highly encouraged.

HANDING IN YOUR APPLICATION

Submit your residence/work permit application with required and supporting documents during your visit at VFS. Then you will have your biometrics captured and finally settle the VFS service fee(s) in cash. 

Do not forget to bring the printed receipt of your online payment from https://dys.um.dk/permit/ upon lodging your file otherwise, your application will be deemed inadmissible.

INTERVIEW

Upon lodging your application, VFS will schedule an interview for you at the embassy. Please note that the interview date is scheduled after the date of submission of documentation. Interviews scheduled prior to the date of submission will not be accommodated.


Please note that the Embassy will not have any information about the application while it is with SIRI for processing, unless the embassy receives further directives. RESULT

It is the applicant’s responsibility to track his/her passport. The embassy will neither disclose the decision via phone nor email due to its confidentiality. Please coordinate with VFS regarding the handling of passports.
