When can I apply for a short stay visa?

Planning ahead and handing in the application as soon as possible is always a good idea since unforeseen problems, such as incomplete documentation, may arise and prolong the case processing time. However, a visa application cannot be accepted if handed in more than 3 months before the intended departure.

Where do I need to go to submit my application for a visa?

Visa applications have to be personally submitted at the Danish Visa Application Center in Manila or Cebu (from 14 May 2015 onwards). For more information on how to apply, please check the Danish Visa Application Center website, click here.

Can applications be lodged in Visayas or Mindanao?

Beginning 14 May 2015, visa applications may also be lodged at our Visa Application Centre in Cebu:

Do I need to get an appointment if I lodge my visa application?

It is highly recommended that applicants get an appoinment to ensure accommodation every Monday-Friday between 09.00-14.00. Walk-in applicants may be accommodated between 07.00-09.00 only. What is the mode of payment? How much and in what currency?

Payments are done at the Danish Visa Application Center upon lodging of an application. Only Philippine Peso Cash can be accepted. List of fees to be settled may be found on this link. Please note that there are is a service fee for the VAC apart from the Visa Application Fee.

My flight has stop overs to other countries on my way to Denmark, do I need a multiple entry visa?

No. A single entry visa will suffice as long as you do not go in and out of the Schengen area.

Do I need multiple entry visa if I wish to visit other Schengen countries?

No, a single entry visa will suffice if you will go to other Schengen countries.

Denmark is just one of the countries I wish to visit in my trip, how do I know if I can apply at the Embassy of Denmark and not in other Schengen embassies?

Individuals have to apply at the Embassy of the country where the main purpose of the trip will be. If the applicant wishes to visit more than one Schengen country, the applicant will have to apply at the Embassy where he/she will be staying the longest. If there is an equal number of days of stay for each of the respective Schengen countries to visit, then the applicant will have to apply for a visa at the Embassy of the Schnegen country where the first  point of entry will be.

How long is the processing time for short stay visa applications?

Short stay visa applications normally take not more than 15 days. However, in some cases where more documents are asked or further verifications of documents are needed, the processing time can take longer.

I am a foreigner living in the Philippines, how can I apply for a visa to Denmark?

For foreigners residing in the Philippines, it is important to check first if you need a visa going to Denmark. Who are exempted from the fee?

Are there any additional charges apart from the visa fee?

Individuals applying through the Visa Application Center will be charged a service fee required by the VAC apart from the Visa Application Fee required by the Embassy. For short stay application fees, please refer to this link. For long stay application fees, refer to this link.

How long is the processing time for au pair applications?

Processing time for au pair applications are normally 2-3 months upon receiving at the Embassy. Should the application exceed the 3rd month, follow ups may be made with the Danish Agency for Labour Market and Recruitment (STAR)

I lodged my application at a different mission (ex. Royal Danish Embassy Malaysia, Danish Immigration Service), do I still need to pay the corresponding residence/work permit fee?

Yes, the fee is Php 11,001.00 or DKK 1.440 payable in Peso only. The fee also applies to taking of biometrics and processing of Work/Residence permits applied at other missions

Can I pay via bank transfer, credit/debit card or other forms of cashless payments?

No, payments can be made via Philippine Peso and in cash only

What is the processing time for Schengen/short stay visa applications?

Processing time for all short stay visa application is normally 15 days. If the application needs further verification, then the processing period may take up to 30-60 days

I lost my residence permit here in the Philippines, what do I do??

If you are to apply for a re-entry visa (Tilbagerejsetilladelse), you have to submit a TBT application form, which may be found in this link. Along with the form, you ought to submit your valid passport and may include additional documentation to support your application for a re-entry visa such as, a police report or affidavit of loss and a photocopy of your expired or lost residence card.

Once the Embassy receives your application, we will be forwarding this to the Danish Immigration Service/ Danish Agency for Labour Market and Recruitment - which is the authorizing party regarding re-entry permits.

What is the processing time for minors visiting family/relatives?

Applications for minors travelling without their parents, minors travelling with only one parent visiting their father/mother,are to be submitted to the Danish Immigration Service. Once submitted, decisions will be received within 30 – 60 days from the date of submission.
