Driving License

In order to duly implement EU directive no. 2006/126/EF, the Danish Executive Order on Driving Licenses has been changed. As per 1 January 2017 persons holding a Danish driving license, who do not have their habitual residence in Denmark, may no longer hand in applications for duplicate driving licenses or renewal of driving licenses to the embassy.

Danish driving license to persons living in the Philippines:

Habitual residence means the country where the person stays at least 185 days in one calendar year.

Kindly note that the restriction does not apply to persons holding a Danish driving license, who are on holiday abroad, but still have their habitual residence in Denmark and to application for an international driving license.


International Driving License

Below are the requirements for an International Driving License:
◾valid Danish driving license
◾completed application form
◾1 passport-sized photo
◾valid Danish passport

 

Philippine Driving License

A Danish driving license is considered a valid foreign driving license in the Philippines for maximum of 90 days from the date of arrival. If you are staying beyond 90 days, you need to apply for a Philippine driving license. Kindly contact the Land Transportation Office for further information about this.

 

Translation of Driving License

When applying for a Philippine driving license, foreign Driver’s License that are not in English Language, are required by the Land Transportation Office, to submit an Official English translation from the local Embassy of the issuing country.

Requirements:

  • original Danish driving license
  • valid Danish passport

Processing time, under normal circumstance is 3 working days and costs PHP 2,025.00.
