Provisional / Emergency Passport

An emergency passport may, upon application, be issued to applicants who have lost their passports and when it is not possible to issue a new passport or to extend the validity of the current passport.

When applying for a provisional passport, the applicant must submit the following requirements:

  • Completed application form
  • Police report (if current passport is lost/stolen)
  • One passport-sized photo (white background)
  • Current passport (if available)

The validity of an emergency passport is limited to the period required for the journey and rules of the countries to be travelled through and for a period not exceeding 12 months. There are some countries that do not allow entry using an emergency passport. Therefore, we recommend that you verify whether the authorities of the country or countries you plan to travel to recognize emergency passports.

Before leaving the Philippines on an emergency passport, we recommend that you go to the Bureau of Immigration to get a new entry stamp prior leaving the country.

Please refer to website of the Bureau of Immigration for further information.
