Type: Danish or other Schengen citizen. Full time will start as soon as possible-

The number of visa application from Filipinos has increased recent years. Thus, the Embassy of Denmark in Manila is looking for an energetic, diligent and systematic person to strengthen our visa team.

The Embassy processes over 7.500 visa applications for Denmark on annual basis.

Employment conditions are on terms with the local staff in the Embassy.


You will become part of a team whose work is primarily concentrated on processing of visa applications for Filipino residents. Your job is therefore to process incoming applications in a service-minded way while following the rules of the Schengen agreement.

The job includes research and decision making in the application process. Thus, the job requires the ability to understand complex cases on a deeper level as well as the proper knowledge and responsibility to make decisions. 

A skilled visa officer also has the proper judgement, works efficiently and delivers a high quality job that enhances the already good reputation of Denmark in the Philippines.

From time to time, you will also be asked to assist Danes in the Philippines with a variety of tasks such as everything from passport applications to more complex tasks. We therefore expect you to be able to be robust and plan your time efficiently.


At the Embassy, we are looking for a team player who can deliver a job of high quality while being time efficient and detail oriented:

  • Good language knowledge: Fluent in English (Danish is an advantage but not a requirement)
  • Relevant administrative working experience
  • A combination of detail orientation and the ability to understand visa related tasks as an important part of the job of promoting Denmark as an attractive country
  • Knowledge of working in a multicultural working environment
  • Knowledge of Asia and/or the Philippines is an advantage
  • Knowledge of administrative law is an advantage
  • Robustness and the ability to keep a cool head in stressful situations


Applications and résumés contain a lot of personal and confidential information. The Embassy is obliged to follow EU’s new rules of handling personal information (GPDR) when we receive and process job applications. Applicants are therefore asked to send an application and résumé incl. relevant documents and a photo to the Embassy through e-Boks or letter post no later than the 27th of August 2018.

Applications through e-Boks/ must be sent to The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Udenrigsministeriet) as recipient marked with “Manila” and with the subject “Ansøgning CW2”. An advantage of using e-Boks/ is that it is sent to us via a protected internet connection and is personal. Thus, no other people will be able to read the application (there is a user guide to create an account on Applicants living outside of Denmark and are exempted from using NemID, can send the application through mail/email to: – topic: “Ansøgning CW2”
